Hurricane Berly's rainfall brought five and a half feet of floodwaters to our field test location, yet our Hive remained securely above the water atop the ArkHive. In the footage, on the left side, a large tree limb can be seen falling during the storm. The wind was fierce, but our Hive stayed secure with the ratchet strap attached to the ArkHive’s anchor points.
In the event of flooding, your colony, their home, and your hard work will remain safe. The ArkHive is engineered to support the total weight on the ground and in the water. The ArkHive is designed to accommodate a single Langstroth Hive or Flow Hive without the stand.
With a sloped top surface, rainwater sheds away quickly, offering additional landing space for the bees. The hive rests on the ArkHive’s cradled design, allowing various bottom boards to be used. The ribbed positioning slats provide extra strength and promote ventilation when screen bottom boards are in place.
With Bee Buoyant magnet mounts, you can easily attach your smoker, hive tool, bee brush, and water bottle to the steel anchor poles, keeping all your essentials nearby. You can also attach a Bee Buoyant-branded clamp-mounted umbrella to the max-stops to shade yourself while tending to the bees. Even if your apiary isn't at risk of flooding, the ArkHive system simplifies the process of caring for your bees.
